Mercedes-Benz Trucks and Daimler Buses are supporting the nationwide “Deutschland blickt’s” road-safety initiative by Blicki e.V., placing children at the centre of their 2026 safety activities. The programme has already reached more than 90,000 children, while around 11,000 children and senior citizens are expected to participate in this year's nationwide activities.

The Mercedes-Benz Safety Truck and Safety Coach are being deployed as mobile platforms for practical workshops, helping young road users understand the challenges posed by trucks and buses. The Safety Truck is an electric vehicle, highlighting how electrification is also changing the road-safety environment, including vehicle acceleration, sound characteristics and emergency-response requirements.

Alongside education, Mercedes-Benz continues developing active and passive safety systems, including emergency braking, turning assistance, collision warnings and improved visibility technologies.

Why It Matters

Technology can reduce risks, but safer roads also depend on awareness and behaviour. Teaching vulnerable road users early creates a stronger foundation for safer mobility.
